A Warm Welcome to “Uncle” Larry
Larry McElroy arrived in the delegation September 7 as a lay missionary.
Larry is a retired teacher, having taught “special ed” students for 32 years. We can say that he, like the Oblates, specializes in “difficult cases.” He and his wife Mary, who died two and a half years ago, lived and raised their three children in San Diego, California.
He became aware of the possibility of volunteering as part of the Oblate mission and decided to work with us in Hong Kong. He will live with the Oblate community at Notre Dame and assist in the English teaching ministry at the three Oblate schools.
