Gathering of the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate (MAMI)
The feast of the Immaculate Conception is the celebration of the Patroness of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
The mother of Jesus inspires us to share the tenderness and love of Jesus Christ with other people, especially the abandoned and the poor. This is our purpose. It is something that we are not called to do alone. We are meant to work together with others as Jesus did.
This is why the Oblates gathered together the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate (MAMI) the evening of December 7th. More than ninety people who in some fashion work with the Oblates joined in celebrating a special mass and dinner together. They came from Lantau, Shatin, Kowloon, and Hong Kong Island. Our work is only possible because of them. This was our effort to express our recognition and appreciation of the support, friendship, and active participation of many people with whom we work in partnership.
It was also an act of faith that in the future we can do even more together.
